Contribute

The work is early and the useful contributions are not only code. Here is where each kind of help lands.

Use it and say what breaks

If you care for a colony, foster, or run a rescue organisation, the most valuable thing you can do is install an instance and tell us where it gets in the way. Open an issue on Codeberg, in English or Spanish.

Write code

The API is Phoenix 1.8 and PostgreSQL, the web client is Next.js and TypeScript, and the sites are Next.js and Docusaurus. Issues marked as good first ones are the place to start.

Translate

Everything ships in English and Spanish, and both are maintained by hand. The interface, the documentation and the posts all need translators, and a partial translation is still worth having.

Fund the work

Kinkeep applies to public funding for free software, and the registry of applications is public. If you work with a fund, a foundation or a council that supports this kind of work, get in touch.

Where the code lives

Everything is on Codeberg. No account with a commercial forge is needed to read it, and issues are open to anyone with a Codeberg account.
